Slave! Lovino x Reader x Slave! Feliciano Chp 22

Everyone had finally calmed down and hopefully they would stay that way. You had just finished your lesson for today and now you were going to go into the garden once again and just wander around, maybe stray off and look around the greater expanse of area surrounding you as well. It was better seeing everyone acting normally rather than looking behind them every three seconds for some kind of demon. You were in your room right now just drawing silly little pictures on a piece of paper, you looked up every now and again staring at nothing before you ended up doodling all over again. What would today bring? The thought made you sigh probably what every other day before this brought, nothing new and the same routine, well there went your good mood, why couldn’t you ever just let yourself be happy? There always had to be one lone thought that would rush in and ruin everything. Oh well, that was just how you worked, maybe you didn’t deserve to be happy when there were so many out there suffering. You started to just stare at the paper you had been doodling on a moment ago with a blank look on your face, what now?

“Bella… is something wrong?” You jumped, when did Feliciano come in here? You turned around to see that he had jumped too because of your reaction, you felt a bit guilty but you had learned that both boys could be cowards when it came down to it. You relaxed when you noticed that it was just him and stared out your window rather than at the piece of paper.

“No I was just thinking, I’m really glad that everyone’s back to normal.” You looked out the window and saw Lucas working on the flowers while Lovino was wandering around the garden for his own reasons you assumed. You looked up to the clouds and saw birds fly past, you envied them, you would never be able to live as carefree as they do, being able to go where you wanted and just live your life. No you had to be an aristocrat, with a stuck up Uncle that was willing to threaten your family because you weren’t engaged yet. You also had to be a woman, it wasn’t the fact of being a woman that bothered you, it’s how most people viewed women. As a woman what you thought or said didn’t matter, especially to upper classes, you were just an object to be married off for someone else’s pleasure. What was this world coming to? Why did things have to be this way? Were all women really so useless as to only be objects to be used as slaves to their husbands and their family. You knew that you were lucky to have a family that loved and cared for you, that wasn’t rushing you to get married to someone you barely even knew, especially when there are probably a lot of girls that don’t have anything close to that, but you couldn’t help but think there was more out there.

“Bella!” You jumped once again, Feliciano was waving a hand in front of your face and had to yell your name to get your attention. Had you really been that out of it? It really didn’t take you long to go into that kind of mindset did it? It was probably just wired into your system that way, after all no one is allowed to be perfect and those who are face the greatest flaws in themselves and the world around them.

“Oh sorry, I guess I spaced out again. Did you need anything Feliciano?” You looked up at him and this time didn’t look way not wanting to risk drifting off again. He had a concerned look on his face and you knew that it was your fault it was there.

“No, I just came to check on you, are you sure that you’re okay? You seem sad… You can tell me if something’s wrong, we’re friends~” He offered a smile and you couldn’t help but smile back at least a little. He was sweet, but how do you explain anything you were thinking without babbling like an idiot, honestly you didn’t think that you could.

“I’m just thinking about some things, it’s really nothing important, I guess I’m just easily distracted. I’m fine Feli, you don’t have to worry about me.” You smiled at him the best you could trying to convince him that he didn’t need to stick around and that everything was alright as far as you were concerned. Instead of continuing to sit there though you got up and took Feliciano’s hand. “Come on, let’s go to the garden, I think Lovino and Lucas are already down there, hopefully they’ll still be around.” Feliciano looked confused at first but then he smiled and nodded.

“Okay bella let’s go~” You were walking down the steps when Feliciano stopped and you turned to him concerned about him now. He had a smile on his face but ti was strange, it was different than his usual smile.

“Is everything alright?” It’s strange to remember that just a second ago he had been asking you the same question, but it wasn’t uncommon for someone to worry about what was going on inside your head.

“Si, it’s just… I wasn’t lying when I said that we were happy here bella, we’re really glad that you found us before… We can stay here forever right and all be like a great big happy family right?” You watched him for a moment, it was strange when he was serious, but what he said made your smile. It was good to know that they were happy here and that they felt at home, at least Feliciano did so Lovino couldn’t be that far off, to know that they actually wanted to stay with you made you feel a lot better too, but you weren’t sure why it had such an effect on your mood. It must be because you made such good friends with them, that’s the only way that you can think about explaining it.

“Of course you can, we’ll all stay together, I promise.” You held his hand a bit tighter and he returned the gesture, but something felt wrong about making that promise to him. He had to understand the passage of time though right? Your parents, Sebastian and Rosaline were the oldest and they would grow old and die one day, you would eventually have to marry someone since you couldn’t legally hold the rights to your families estate and money because of your gender, but for now you wanted to live in the same fantasy that Feliciano had. You wanted to pretend that time would just stop where you were now, no one would ever age, that you could all just stay together. For now you just wanted to ignore what had to eventually come to pass and just be happy, but whether or not fate would allow you to do so wasn’t up to you. Feliciano smile grew with your answer and soon he was nearly dragging you to the garden, the first person you ran into was Lucas, well Feliciano quite literally ran into him. You giggled a bit at how they landed; Feliciano was on his hands and knees hovering above Lucas who was rubbing his head whining about bumping into someone.

“Ow… what’s got you two in such a rush?” He opened his eyes and froze noticing the strange position they were in then he noticed that you were laughing. You had read about this happening, but usually it was a girl and a boy not two men stuck in that position. “What’s so funny?”

“Nothing it’s just when I read about this kind of thing it’s usually a girl that falls on her back and ends up trapped like that.” You grinned a bit and he pouted, Feliciano had just frozen, you weren’t sure what was wrong, you figured that he was still getting his head together after running forehead first into Lucas.

“Are you saying I’m not pretty enough to be a girl?” You rolled your eyes as Lucas just pouted at you before chuckling and looking back at Feliciano who hadn’t moved, “You okay…?” Lucas trailed off from his care free tone when he looked at Feliciano, carefully he sat up and moved Feliciano to where he was sitting on his knees, you crouched down beside him to see that his eyes were wide open and he looked scared for some reason. It was like he was seeing a different reality, or that he was trapped in a bad dream or memory. You put a hand on his shoulder and he didn’t change for a moment.

“Feliciano… what’s the matter, did you get hurt when you two fell…?” He still didn’t respond, but before you could try again Lovino rounded the corner, it was one of the rare moments that concerned showed on his face. He ignored both you and Lucas as he went up to Feliciano who responded to his brother being around.

“What happened?” Lovino narrowed his eyes at both you and Lucas, suddenly he looked very protective and a bit scary, it was strange and you didn’t like it.

“While we were coming out here to see you and Lucas, he and Lucas ran into each other and fell. Feliciano fell on his hands and knees and Lucas was beneath him, Lucas had to make him sit up. What’s wrong with him?” You looked at Feliciano worriedly and when you had explained what happened Lovino looked back at Feliciano and started whispering something to him in Italian.

“I’ll go inside, maybe some water will help.” Lucas got up and ran off to the house, both of you still unsure of what was going on, once again you had been reminded how little you know about the two brothers’ past. When you looked back at them Feliciano had hugged Lovino, but rather than pushing him away like he normally did he was stroking his brother’s hair. What happened to them…? You didn’t want to ask, but you couldn’t help wanting to know what caused them to have these moments. It was silent even when Lucas came back, Feliciano eventually recovered himself again and smiled at everyone.

“I’m sorry, I’m okay now, come on let’s go play some more bella~ You can come too Lucas~” You looked up at him, Lovino was always immediately included whether he said his name or not he would be dragged into doing whatever game that Feliciano wanted to play, it was odd to see him recover and then be so concerned with something as if it never happened. Whatever they went through, it wasn’t something that they wanted to talk about, so instead of opening old wounds you just decided to go with it.

“Okay, we can go by the old tree at the edge of the garden, sometimes deer and rabbits will hop across the field you can see them from there.” You offered a still concerned smile and Feliciano’s smile grew a bit hearing about the animals that you could all possibly see if you sat at the tree long enough.

“Sure, I don’t mind tagging along, it could be fun. At least this time there aren’t any brats that will try and throw things at the animals.” Lucas was still being cautious, but at least he had the same idea of avoiding the topic that caused Feliciano to have a break down. You could guess he was talking about your cousins when he mentioned brats. Feliciano held your hand and his brother’s while he walked to the old tree, he was quiet, but he was trying to keep a cheerful expression, all the while his brother still looked a bit concerned. The day did continue without any more problems or accidents though, so you had to be happy for that much. When you looked over at them though you couldn’t help but revisit the same thing you wondered off and on since they got here, what happened to them? What created the people you see now? You liked who they were but sometimes they scared you, whether it be out of concern or like Lovino’s moment earlier when he suddenly looked a bit dangerous and threatening.  You wouldn’t ask though, when they wanted to tell you, if they wanted to, they would, but it was best not to push it. You decided on that firmly while you were walking to your room with them, by now they slept in their, Lovino’s, room. However when you looked at Feliciano while Lovino was opening the door to his room you couldn’t help it, you hugged him after Lovino walked into their room; he paused and looked down at you curious as to what you were doing.

“You know… if there’s ever something bothering you, then you can tell me too, we’re friends so you can come to me…” You were still unsure of what caused him to freak out earlier, but if he ever needed someone and Lovino wasn’t around you wanted him to know he could depend on you too. He smiled and hugged you back; he was calm for a change.

“I know, I’m sorry for worrying you bella… but you have to trust me first before I can trust you, until then… you should learn to smile a little more naturally, or else it’s obvious that something’s bothering you.” When you released him, you could only watch him, he had a strange look like before, but it didn’t have that happy undertone. You had never heard him be so frighteningly serious, he was usually so friendly, but a dark past could really change a person it looked like… You said goodnight before he went into his brother’s room, which caused a short lived argument once again, while you went into yours and got ready for bed. However something woke you in the middle of the night, fearing what it was you sat up only you have a hand slapped over your mouth before you were blind folded and gagged. You heard men talking and soon you heard the panicked muffling of even more people, it seemed like forever before you were moving again. They roughly shoved you and the others, based on the sound and feeling the weight of one of them hit you, into some kind of box or carriage thing. You were blinded, but even you could tell when it became completely dark. What was going on?
